If you have large tables that store transactional data, or data that is clustered by day, week or month, you know that keeping that data synchronized with your test environments can be a challenge. Making a full copy takes a lot of time, and using traditional data propagation tools results in vast amounts of SQL statements and a lot of logging overhead.

Finally there is a way to select only the partitions that have changed since you did your last copy.

Instead of having to copy all the partitions in the tablespace, BCV5‘s “Partition Level Refresh” feature allows users to make fast VSAM-to-VSAM copies of only some partitions of a table.
